Bloodbath – Outnumbering the Day Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is clearly about the end of the world and mother nature reclaiming what was once hers

"When the sky turns black and nature's sounds go mute"

Everythings dead, theres no sun in the sky, everything has ended, even the animals.

"The world stops turning as time dies
Outnumbering the day"

I love this line, the thought of time itself, dying, is very thought provoking, I am still unsure as to what "outnumbering the day" means.

Alexisonfire – To A Friend Lyrics 17 years ago
Personally, I believe this song to be both about drug addiction, and instead of a schizophrenic element, rather the inner struggle the drug addict is having and we are being shown his inner dialogue.

"What are you suffering for?
Your pride or some kind of personal war?
and will you throw it all away?
For nothing more than a simple taste?"

Dallas' character is saying that he can see his friend is clearly suffering the side effects of the drugs, eg, paranoia, loss of sleep, hallucinations etc "Paranoia woven deep beneath my skin" the addiction is very deep in Georges character.

"will you throw it away, for nothing more than a simple taste" will you destroy your future, just to fulfill your addiction?

"I think it's time to kil the drama
This lifestyle is getting old" Possible realisation by Georges character that his current lifestyle (drug addiction) is creating alot of "drama" which is what he believes Dallas' character to be creating, making a big fuss about his addiction, George wants an end to this attention.

When he says "this lifestyles getting old" he may be having second thoughts about his use of drugs, he may be becoming tired of his addiction. This part i beleive to be Georges characters conscience speaking aloud.

"There is
Something
Waiting
for me
In the
Darkest
Part of
My imagination"

George's character is having dark thoughts about the most extreme side effects of drugs (schizophrenia, psychosis) rare as they are, he is still obviously worried, however he has pushed this anxiety into a "dark corner" of his mind, trying to block it out and ignore it.

"This is just self-induced terror
There's more to come
This is just a glimpse
I tell myself its all in my head
But i'm pretty hard to convince"

A very big realisation by George's character, his self made addiction "terror", and he is simply too stubborn to quit now while he can "theres more to come" he is trying to convince himself that he will be okay, and he wont be destroyed by his addiction, however, his mind is still not convinced by this "But i'm pretty hard to convince"

Overall the song is most definitly, in my opinion, about drug addiction and the internal monologue of George's stubborn character who is refusing to listen to his friends pleas for him to quit while he still can.
