| This song is about knowing that things are about to get rough. You could interpret it to mean a big argument is coming in a relationship, or considering Dustin's use of Christian themes, it could mean how things are only gonna get worse for Christians as time passes. The song doesn't really indicate what kind of a storm it is. In whatever case, the final chorus shows that the storm won't kill us, and something much better will come out of it. | |

Even within a single religion, "truth" is never agreed upon by all members of that faith, and this holds true for Christianity. You can know you're in the ballpark of truth, but finding all the answers is a struggle. The artist is saying that he hasn't gotten it yet...not the full truth, and since he's been trying to get it for so long and is still unsure, God should just answer his questions with a miracle. However, since he knows that that's not gonna happen; that it's something we have to realize on our own; he's gonna keep staring at the sun, that 'ballpark' of the truth, keep trying to find truth until he understands or goes blind. Why is truth so hard to find in this world? Why do there have to be so many shades of grey? Why do people who are filled with the same holy spirit "know" different truths? Sure, some things apply to us as individuals, but this doesn't encompass everything, especially when you get down to the nitty gritty of your faith, the small things that make a big difference to you personally. |
