I love Twilight. This song is so perfs. I'm glad it was written for Twilight. It blends so well. There would be no better song to briefly describe what happens in the story. I just wish it wasn't at the end of the credits. I love this song. &it works so well with the story. It may have gotten even MORE popular (yah hard to believe) if people heard it throughout the movie. Instead of waiting to see if there was an extra scene at the end of the movie to hear it. Loveeeeeeeeee it<3 |

| Flobots – Handlebars Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This is what I think Handlebars means. :) "I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars No handlebars" At the beginning of the song, the 'person' claims to do something of an extraordinary feat. With knowledge he could do something he probably couldn't have done previously gives him the will to strive forward and perform other tedious and strenuous tasks that no one else could do, as stated in the first verse. "Look at me, look at me hands in the air like it's good to be ALIVE and I'm a famous rapper even when the paths're all crookedy I can show you how to do-si-do I can show you how to scratch a record I can take apart the remote control And I can almost put it back together I can tie a knot in a cherry stem I can tell you about Leif Ericson I know all the words to "De Colores" And "I'm Proud to be an American" Me and my friend saw a platypus Me and my friend made a comic book And guess how long it took" And now that he can do these things, he truly believes he could do, well, anything. "I can do anything that I want cuz, look" As time (and the song) goes on, the tasks become greater and he becomes seemingly more egotistical. "I can keep rhythm with no metronome No metronome No metronome And I can see your face on the telephone On the telephone On the telephone" As the person grows even older, the tasks are now not just simply taking apart a remote control and almost putting it back together. As he grows, so does his ambitions and his mind opens up to all the things he could do. "Look at me Look at me Just called to say that it's good to be ALIVE In such a small world I'm all curled up with a book to read I can make money open up a thrift store I can make a living off a magazine I can design an engine sixty four Miles to the gallon of gasoline I can make new antibiotics I can make a computer survive aquatic conditions I know how to run a business And I can make you wanna buy a product Movers, shakers, and producers Me and my friends understand the future I see the strings that control the systems I can do anything with no assistance" The extraordinary tasks continue. "Cause I can lead a nation with a microphone With a microphone With a microphone And I can split the atoms of a molecule Of a molecule Of a molecule" And finally, he becomes some sort of weird dictator. With the knowledge that he can control a nation/country with all of his power and information, he starts to lose control on reality. He also lets his emotions rule everything, like when he says "I can make anyone go to prison, just because I don't like 'em". "Look at me Look at me Driving and I won't stop And it feels so good to be Alive and on top My reach is global My tower secure My cause is noble My power is pure I can hand out a million vaccinations Or let'em all die from exasperation Have'em all healed from their lacerations Or have'em all killed by assassination I can make anybody go to prison Just because I don't like 'em And I can do anything with no permission I have it all under my command Because I can guide a missile by satellite By satellite By satellite And I can hit a target through a telescope Through a telescope Through a telescope And I can end the planet in a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust" His plans end with ending the world possibly in a holocaust. And take notice that each verse begins with the words "Look at me, look at me". This may show that he only seeks attention and power. The last portion of the song could be like a 'song flashback', sending us back to when this boy's mind was simple and all he really cared about was being able to ride his bike with no handlebars. "I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars No handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars No handlebars" ...or it could be like a machine playing a song after the holocaust;; to show how it all began. I think this song is quite different, edgy&catchy. It shows a lot of the world's problems, like incapable leaders ruling on personal favor&emotion. &how one person could become completely insane&powerful just because they could perform a task that they thought was not possible;; riding a bike with no handlebars. |

| Yellowcard – Breathing Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think that this song is about a cheating relationship. Like, nothing feels right in the relationship anymore because of what he's done, as in the first verse. In the chorus, he always hears her breathing, which could be a sign of his paranoia and his guilt. In the second verse, he states why he has cheated. He 'couldn't bear to hurt you, but it's all so different now', might mean that the relationship has changed. Or at least his girlfriend did. And his once confident attitude has now changed to doubt. The third verse basically has him reflecting about what he's done. He doesn't know if he should still try to keep a friendship going and man up to it or just turn around and never see her again because he is so shamed. He realizes that he's hurt her and that the love he once had and threw away was the only real thing he's ever had. The cheating relationship and all his past ones don't mean anything. He regrets it. I love this song. It is sad, meaningful and a different interpretation of a cheating song. This person truly regrets cheating on his girlfriend. This song has a lot of meaning to me for reasons I'll not post here. But this is a great song. And Yellowcard rocks. |
