| Animal Collective – I Think I Can Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I just got ahold of the new EP and for my first reactions to the song, I believe this is about trying to quit smoking weed and talking to someone who has recently quit or isn't ready to try it. What's in your way? What's nice about staying on the same things, What you, what you, get on and stay on? Well I guess, I'm just doing, what makes me feel good. ^^^ This person is asking what is stopping him, what's good about staying on the same plane. To cope with the discomforting feedback the person he is asking is giving, he has to comfort himself with "Well I guess, I'm just doing, what makes me feel good. [Even if I could, Even if I could, You know I would Just come back to it anyhow] ^^^ Even if he could quit smoking, he knows he would just go back to it anyhow. And I don't want And I don't want To keep myself From good And I know how Too many tough times You would ^^^ He doesn't want to hold himself back, no matter how bad it seems to other people. Maybe they just don't understand. To him, it is a good thing. He admits, it's a coping mechanism at times and he knows that his friend strayed away from smoking when things got tough. Will I get to move on soon? ^^^ I'm unsure if this is the first person who asked the questions originally, asking when he will get to have another opportunity to smoke. He could also be asking when he will be able to leave the substance. I think I can. ^^^ He'll be able to leave it one day. |

| Sunset Rubdown – Up on Your Leopard, Upon the End of Your Feral Days Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I went away to Southern Africa, I'm sixteen, I'm away for 3.5 months. In my feral days. It was romantic, the whole thing. I was alone and seeing animals. Upon my leopard. My sister sends me this song. This song is mine. |

| MGMT – The Youth Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"the youth is starting to change" -obvious meaning. "are you starting to change" -our generation is changing, does that mean that you are changing? "are you together" -i can't decide if it is questioning someones relationship i.e. "are you guys even together now that you've changed?" OR if it is asking "are you together with the rest of the youth, changing..." OR if it is implying a question like "are you keeping yourself together?". sorry if that was worded strangely and is difficult to understand. not many posts have been made about the chorus. can i get some input? -like others, this is my favorite song on the album. |

| MGMT – Time to Pretend Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is explaining the life of us youngsters, trying hard just to make a living; let alone gain riches. even if people end up balling with money, getting cars, buying drugs, partying 24/7 -and yes it is great to pretend that this is a realistic lifestyle-... truth is, we miss the simple things in life like digging up worms, we miss our families and friends. but for the moment: fuck it all! {that's our attitude} and it is the easiest thing to do. but that is all just pretend, and wouldn't it be great if we could really live like that? | |
