My Daughter is an Ann Elise. I did it that way for 2 reasons. First, on the album it is spelled with a capital A for Ann and a capital E for Elise, which to me indicated first and middle names. Secondly, it was much easier for my little girl to spell Ann than Annelise in kindergarten and first grade, but at home she is Annelise. |

I don't dismiss this song easily. It is an odd subject to be sure, and he delivers it in a dark creepy way. If there was one thing I could share about this song that may help those that would wonder why they would do this song, myself am in a band and I can tell you, this song is a blast to play live, with its relentless bass line and the falsetto. Sometimes the most subtle thought provoking songs just dont transfer well to live performance, but they are great songs with more creativity and substance than this one. You still have to have some of these punchy up tempo songs to carry a show, and when viewed in those terms, this is quite a clever song. For most rock bands this would be their most creative song. |
