| Phantom Planet – Ship Lost at Sea Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's simply about being infatuated with someone, and you know you're so amazingly out of their league, but you've accepted that. And you wouldn't mind at all if you were with them, and they pretended not to know you, because merely being with them is good enough for you. |

He's put up emotional barriers because of repeated attacks on his heart. He really can't open up to anyone, really. And this all happens because of some little flea, convincing someone to conspire against him. And now the speaker is behind glass, only able to watch, but he put himself there, because he'd rather be alone than risk being hurt like before. That's really all I could come up with. |

| Phantom Planet – I Don't Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |

A guy has fallen rediculously in love with a woman, but she has rejected him. Now he's sad and depressed, and whie in his hotel room, he has suicidal thoughts, but calls the crisis hotline anyway. He tries to call her, and he wants to think she's not home, but still lies the inevitable fact that she is not in love with him. "'Cause either I'd bleed dry or keep this thorn in my side. But I don’t mind." He's in a lot of pain, being rejected and all, and it's like having a thorn in his side. He's got two choices, either to not give up on her(keeping the thorn in his side), knowing that she doesn't love him, or giving up on her(taking it out, hence bleeding until he's dried up of all blood), finally accepting that she doesn't love him and moving on, but with this big gaping hole in his soul. I think I covered it pretty well Oh, but the end of the song is a segment of something, that's backwards, I THINK, and I dunno, but it spooks me to no end. Like, anything replayed backwards spooks me to no end. |

i dunno, there doesn't seem to be much hidden meaning in this song.. it's all pretty self explanitory, really he's just talking to a girl who has thoughts of suicide because of her oh so tragic life, but the thing is that she takes her friends for granted, "Either they're busy or they are no fun" but he wants her to talk to him. i guess. meh. |

| Phantom Planet – Demon Daughters Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
i dunno, at first glimpse it would seem like he's referring to all the daddies girls that do anything to get what they want the ones that have like control over everyone in high school. i dunno, there's gotta be more. "I found him under A mountain Of blankets And he was shaking It’s what they fostered A child A monster His head Looked crooked Then shook and shattered You bastards You hatched her You hatched her" he's possibly referring to a couple of lovers. the boy heartbroken by the girl, who has become a demon daughter. hence, "you hatched her" meaning another is born and "that pumping organ" is someone's heart that demon daughters are still playing with and it's a tale we're all familiar with. hmm, who knows? |
