Abandoned Pools – Blood Lyrics 17 years ago
My personal interpration portrays two siblings who feel the same pain because they share the same "blood".

By looking at the family two, the two siblings see the past when they are happy and "smiling all the time" but now everything "burn[ing]" as they grow up. Things don't go the way they dreamed, the future seems very dim, "This can't be what you're waiting for".

My interpretation for "We eat our young" is completely metaphorical. I think it states that human beings tend to destroy what they worked so hard on and what they treasure the most.

"Just take it easy on yourself
Forget all the stupid things we say
I know you beat up on yourself
I know it's in your blood".

My interpretation of this stanza is basically saying, "We all make mistakes, don't be so hard on yourself; don't be feel bad. Forgot all the fighting and arguing when you know they meant nothing. I know you beat yourself up for your mistakes, I know because I'm like you, we share the same blood. It'll be okay."

The last stanza in my opinion means throwing away the bad past, and trying to move forward.

Abandoned Pools – The Remedy Lyrics 17 years ago
I actually agree with what fyrefox originally said; I do not see this song as describing an intimate relationship but a friend relationship.

The two friends have their ups and downs; when one friend is down or wrong, the other picks him/her up again.

"Then you can be the remedy
And I can be the enemy
They you can be the wannabe
And I can be the remedy."

Another interpretation is more like fyrefox's. One realizes that they have been treated like crap for a long time, taken advantage of and taken for granted. They realize they are better than that and turn their back on the one who treated them wrongly.

"And he can go and live as nothing."

"And he can go to hell for all I care."

"Save your breath your soul is hollow."
