I have to agree. This song is about a guy who has come up with "...metaphors and lies..." for himself as to why the other sex isn't interested in him. Instead of the obvious reason being that he's just not a physically attractive person. The common cold part to me indicates an excuse that girls have given to him. Say he calls this girl up that he likes and wants to go out, She would make up something like a cold and say that because of this, she can't do anything. That's just me though. "Say it's true; say you like me. (I like you.) Just for the night, for me it's been eternity." He's just saying that he's never really known a woman that was interested in him (like they are with attractive people) and it feels to him like it's been eternity. The bottom line, he's come to the realization that he's ugly and he's afraid that he may never attract someone. "I think about my lack of future." |
