Well, most of you have the correct idea. He isn't saying heavy metal will live on. He's saying metal in gerneral will live on, not only because it is superior to all other genres, but because it EVOLVES! Evolution is immortal. Heavy Metal lead to Thrash Metal, Thrash then split into two: Black Metal (the greatest form of metal) and Death Metal. No other genre has succeded in evoloving, more or less because metal evoloves faster and is usually liked more. It crushes any opponent. The thing is, metal has been around since the early 1900's, and is still here to this very day. Many genres have come, left, come again, and left for good. However, rock has come close to killing metal. Mainly because it is the father of metal. Rock gave birth to metal, and of course, the son overthrew the father. Now, Rock does have many different styles, but it hasn't evoloved. Punk rock, techno, rap, county, all of it. They all suck. The only thing techno ever gave that was worth a listen, was Criss Angel, who, oddly enough, is now metal. Ha! Punk never gave anything, neither did rap or country. There, that about sums it up. |
