| Josh Pyke – Eat Me Alive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is my favourite song off the new album (so far). I think it's about somebody who has helped bring you out of your shell and given you confidence in what you do. Personally this reminds me of a friend from work who has helped me grow as a person, as previously I was really shy and had no confidence, so without this friend I do feel 'they would eat me alive out there'. | |

| To me this is about sitting at home, on your own, on a night where everyone else is out and you're sat feeling like a loser. You believe there's "something more" out there and spend the whole night imagining what it's like but it "makes no sense", it's "a mirage of an oasis" because it's all fake, just a dream and at the end of the day you're only dreaming up how life can be because you hate your current life and if you hate something it "goes away" for a while, as you dream of what everything can be like. | |

This tune sounds awesome live. I love the Rio version where you can hear the crowd singing along, as someone already mentioned. Fucking brilliant. |

"If you want to quit, you should quit like a winner. Cut your losses and extricate yourself from the bidding. And tell your friends that you could've if you'd wanted to, And tell yourself that it's strong to make a hard call. And when the others are all fed and watered, You're still betting and cheering her on. By then I'll bet you'll be gone." This bit seems to me to be about a girl that everyone likes, everyone wants a piece of her etc, but sometimes you take yourself out of the running because you know you'll never get her, but out of bravado or whatever you tell your friends that you "could've" if you'd wanted to. But deep down you really, really like her, you want more than one thing and then when the others are all "fed & watered" i.e. have got what they wanted from this girl, you're still "cheering her on" which to me represents a deep, deep feeling for her, but because you've removed yourself from the running you're "gone" and will never stand a chance with her. |

"Getting crazy on the waltzers" will refer to the fairground ride, The Waltzer. Spanish City used to be fun.. it's a dump now though. To my knowledge there is nowhere in the north east of England called Rockaway. Wikipedia tells me it could be a carriage or a dance... Great song. |

| Amy Winehouse – You Know I'm No Good Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Then you notice likkle carpet burn, My stomach drop and my guts churn, You shrug and it's the worst, Who truly stuck the knife in first I see this bit a little different to some people. They're like old times again, then he notices the carpet burn (evidence of her cheating) and shrugs.. but then the bit "who truly stuck the knife in first" suggests to me that as he so casually shrugs it off, maybe he has also cheated, so she's not sure who "stuck the knife in first" i.e. cheated first. So suddenly even though she feels terrible for cheating, it's even worse to think he may have cheated on her first. |
