| Sam Cooke – Bring It on Home to Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
A song about a man trying to get his woman to come back home. Although it ends quite unhopeful. We've always had those 'one more thing' moments, when resolution is a breath away but we have to get our gripes out there. I think he blew it. |

| The Velvet Underground – Pale Blue Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Perhaps the most relevant-to-life first verse in history. Love it. I don't know who the song is about exactly, but the last verse seems to give a lot of hints. Lou, or 'the narrater', is besotted with this girl and despite the evident love between the two, they just can't seem to make it work. Sad. |

| The Pretenders – Stop Your Sobbing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song translates to 'man up and I'll come back to you'. Simple. | |
| The Pretenders – Hymn To Her Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Interesting you mention that eln, I was reading this song as a woman who is dealing with the deal of her mother. The opening verse comes across as the family clearing out her room after she's died, and the line: 'I dress as your daughter' could be a reference to her funeral. Sorry for your loss anyway. |

| The Hollies – Bus Stop Lyrics | 17 years ago |
A simple song about romance blossoming in a bus stop on a rainy day. Interesting thing is, I've always found the music...creepy? Wrong word, but I won't read into it. Just a quirky juxtaposition I suppose. |

| Hermans Hermits – No Milk Today Lyrics | 17 years ago |
You can always depend on milk to be delivered, a reflection on how dependable his girl is supposed to be. When no milk turns up, this is a metaphor for how his woman has left. Both have let him down. (Love tert's perspective, haha) |

| Henson Cargill – With Pen In Hand Lyrics | 17 years ago |
A beautiful and not too well known song. Obviously about a divorce that one person doesn't want. (Prefer the Vikki Carr version - slightly altered and better lyrics too) |
| The Velvet Underground – Candy Says Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree that this song is about Candy Darling. Yes, about her considering a sex change operation, but its also a lot deeper than that. The lines: 'What do you think I'd see If I could walk away from me' is about her judging herself, how she looks etc in some out of body experience. (And, just for laughs, the 'do do op's' at the end could be telling her to do the operation ?? Just kidding) |

| Five for Fighting – Superman (It's Not Easy) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song was on the Smallville soundtrack, so go figure... I think it's definitely about a young Clarke Kent trying to live up to the life he's been dealt. But that's not to say this song isn't a metaphor for anyone in positions of responsibility that people look to. |
