I may be taking this way too far, but blue is a term for heroin. Other than that, this is a really fun song :) |

| Bright Eyes – A Scale, a Mirror, and Those Indifferent Clocks Lyrics | 15 years ago |

To me, this song is about anorexia. I hear "here's a scale, weigh it out and you'll find that he's way more than sufficient" Even if this isn't what he meant, it can bring me to my knees. Very few things can make me go back to how I felt, and this song is incredible in it's rawness. This isn't just a song for me, it's an ingrained memory. Of "the disease these doctors can't treat" that I used to have, and occasionally fall back into within lapses of judgement and medications Can anyone else here the starving conor here? |

All of this could be wrong, but its my interpretation of the song. It depresses me but I cant stop listening to it. The first born, my heart will call Truly (she loves the first child. the boy is more powerful than the younger siblings) A God-like boy of the sky (the first child was like a boy from heaven, like an angel) The fog hissed away like a movie (things clear up unbelievably when the boy is around) And serpents go home for the night (The boy chased the serpents away) The thundercloud rain hits the freeway (Things start to stir up again) The clowns put on makeup for show (the scary things were just faking something pleasing, the boy was really not a good thing, just pretended to be angelic) The nightfall, my skin crawl kind of evening (the boy turns on her, making her skin crawl) And how the wind she blows (she blows over, weakens her few defenses) Come dancing with devils (the boy was a devil) Need not to know their names (she wouldn't want to disgrace the boy by saying his name and/or dig up hurtful memories by uttering his name) We'll waltz like an army (strategically put up a struggle) For the fear of our pain (to keep worse things from happening) Our souls become useless As the day they were born (innocent? no emotion? help me out here) In a rusted arm rocking chair (a comfort item, probably from childhood being its age) Away from your storm (refuge in the rocking chair) But still, the truth remains lethal (under the make-up is something deadly) A lie made by man (covered up by society or just one person) Where my shoes become hammers (everything she touches becomes broken, I picture this part as walking on eggshells) And my words become sand (everything she says falls through like some meaningless saying) Like a sour patch, a wedding batch Of roses you threw across my floor (Sour patch is something bad, maybe depressing. the roses ruined by someone giving up and throwing them) In the rusted arm rocking chair Away from your storm (again she takes refuge in the rocking chair, to get away from him) |

| Blue October – James Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Have any of you ever read the Twilight saga? Well, Stephanie Meyer (the author) is a huge fan of Blue October. In the saga there is a vampire that wants to kill Bella, his name is James. Meyer has said in many interviews that she listened to our Blue buddies while writing the book, I'm just wondering if maybe this song could have had any effect on the hated character in the series, I mean come on... she has said it herself that she is obsessive over Blue October. I think it is a huge possibility. If you have read any of the books, send me an email or IM telling me what you think; I would love some further insight into this. hxcnuggets@aim.com | |
