| I like this song because I think it reflects how some of my friends and I feel about the state of the world today (mid-20somethings). Because we know just waiting isnt going to do anything, but we've inherited a world which from where we are standing seems too hard to fix. There is a sort of anxiety within us from seeing all the suffering on tv (and all the suffering that is hidden), we just don't know to go about it, so we just wait. Not the best idea, but I like how it's expressed in this song. We do care, but we need to try to understand ourselves and the situation we're in too, because we will rule the population, eventually. | |

"you'll take her any way she sings" I think this song revolves around realising that love is about the actual experience - good and bad. Because the beauty of the rain is not that it IS raining, it is about how it's falling. i.e how we love, and how that love isn't perfect all the time. The faults are what makes it beautiful. That's what true love is, ups and downs and occasionally wondering "what you love her for" but realising that the truth about love is deeper than just knowing each others fears and so on. It's the journey of loving one person for a lifetime that makes it special. |
