Yes. It is about letting infatuation get out of control and then eventually getting to heartbreak. However, it's wrapped in a very upbeat pop song. |

I could have sworn this song was about his relationship with his mother. Like he didn't take the path in life that his mother wanted him to take. So she bothers him about it to no end and he resents her for it. I don't know. |

Layne and Jerry wrote most if not all of Alice in Chains' songs. So as Layne fell deep into drug addiction and ultimately his death (God rest his soul), the others tried like hell to keep the band together. The beauty of their writing is as dark as it was, it can apply to the average person because I can relate to the pain and suffering in just about every song even though I haven't been addicted to heavy drugs unless you count chocolate as a heavy drug:) |

When your brother gets back from wherevever he's going, try to let him know that he doesn't have to prove anything. The military is not as honorable as government will have people believe. I guess it could be, but the government is full of lies. I'm also serving, but I can not in my right mind take the oath again. Ultimately, it's his choice though. |

Just like any other song, it could have a number of meanings. For instance, the young woman has had a few years of really hard times and she wants to return to brighter days. Whether it was child abuse, spousal abuse, drug abuse, or something else bringing her down, she wants it to go away. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning Lyrics

"Oh and now the Kingdom Comes"
"The last of a line of lasts"
"The world is lost and blown"
These all sound like the end of the world as we know it. Maybe starting a new and better world not making the same mistakes we are making and have made in the history of mankind. Just my thoughts.
If this is anything like Corgan had in mind then he does have great forethought, I'll give him that! |

This could possibly be an apocalyptic view of the planet.
Is it bright where you are- may mean the planet has suffered drastically and solar or lunar changes may have taken effect.
Have the people changed- May mean whatever takes place after the apocalypse has been set forth might have affected inhabitants of the planet greatly.
With no more to hate- maybe there are so few people left if any, there is no one to hate.
Time has stopped before us- Time would be the least of my worries post-apocalypse.
I mean just about every line on this track could be symbolic with the apocalypse. Or Maybe I'm misanthropic. OK. Have fun y'all. |
