when i first read these lyrics i got a strong sense that they're relative to the holy trinity [one godhead, three persons aka the father, the son and the holy spirit]. i'm not sure how much it relates to that, but it makes sense ["i am one as you are three, try to find a messiah in your trinity"]. it could be, as people have suggested, about satan, as there is no evidence that he exist[ed] in three persons. i don't think anyone can really figure it out, it's got the trademark ambiguity of a pumpkins song. |
