Thats an interesting take, but I was fairly certain it was more to do with the loss of a woman. Crow chasing the butterfly, if I may so assert, is a metaphor for the incompatibility between the singer and this woman; something ugly and something beautiful, something oppressive and something free, leading in to the next line about dandelions, showing how delicate and transient the whole thing was. It's a very rich song and I'm glad to see that in developing their heavier sound they didn't loose what made them (IMO) great in the first place. -xtjx |
