I just wanted to say... That one guy back a few pages... 'indifference' is not 'being different'. That said... This song seems to ooze indifference: '...Make us it, make us hip, make us scene, or shrug us off your shoulders, don't approve a single word that we wrote..." "Just for the record, the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of A.) Indifference and B.) Disinterest in what the critics say." What it sounds like to me is that Panic! simply doesn't care about critics at all, weather good or bad, and simply is writing the music to please themselves and their limited audience(I say limited because I don't personally consider people who know the words to their songs 'fans' by definition). Also... "Whoa, keep quiet, let us sing like the doves, then decide if it's sung with purpose or lack thereof." I think they're basically saying 'Criticize our shit after you've listened to it. Not just heard it with your ears, but actually listened to it.' Panic! is quite a good band, and personally I don't give a shit about any band drama/references/bullshit. I like the guy's voice, and they have a strange meter and poetic quality about their lyrics that no other band I've listened to (read: I'VE LISTENED TO, not IN EXISTENCE, PLEASE TELL ME ALL ABOUT WHY YOU THINK I'M AN IDIOT) has. None of their lyrics really seem to rhyme, with few exceptions. Anyhoo... Bai! ^_~ |
