This song has my favorite lyrics in the world. It makes me cry. Maybe it's about being engaged with a woman who might not even realize how much of a liar, poser, and make-believe artist she is. She's one of those types that flutters around society and always smiles. The purpose for her is how she looks, not how she lived. But the man isn't like that. Maybe he's a poet, and while it was fun to play make-believe with her for a while, he realizes in the end that you can change who you are, but it hurts every breath when you're breathing fake. Their relationship crumbles. People can try to be something that they're not, but in the end, they bounce back like elastic. It's time for both of them to start over. |

I agree that this song is about a pointless love. And the narrator realizes that, and she's telling everyone else that even if it looks crappy right now, breathe for love tomorrow. Eventually the tide will turn. The line "Sweating all your blood" always throws me. It makes me think that she's in love with someone who took her virginity, or made her get an abortion, or maybe the song is about an abusive parent. I wish that line was better explained or not in the song at all. It doesn't seem to fit. |

| My friend and I were talking about this song last night. I could relate to it through the lines pertaining to not caring about what people thought or consequences. My friend understood the raw need for the person the narrator sings about. I thought about it, and I think this song may be about Dean Geyer, but at it's heart it's just about the feeling most teenagers get from unrequited love. This song is a confession of it. | |
