I can definitely relate to this song. I have this friend, beth who always kept me guessing about where our relationship was headed. Often, she'd make plans with me and end up braking them..it was hard to tell if it was deliberate or not. These lyrics really hit home. She always kept me waiting & guessing..she still does.. "My lungs, they start to ache But still we carry on I'm choking on my words Like I got a noose around my neck" This section seems to be refering to weed.. Later it seems to go into more hard-core drugs when it talks about pills and alcohol. But You inhale weed which can make your lungs sore, but keep smoking to get higher. Many people cough when smoking so that could be "choking on my words" And cotton mouth can feel like a nuse around your neck or throt. I dont know..just an idea. |

I think this is a religious song too. "He who recollects, forgive us" refers to god. "On the way down, we understand what it means to break down" means that those who don't believe in God and then die go to hell. "On the way out you decide to believe that on the way out its too late" While you're dieing you deiced to believe in God but it's too late; You're going to hell. I personally don't even believe in a God but this is my take on the lyrics. |
