ha! those are some good questions desaparecida. Im sure i can answer the "aphid" question. As you already know aphids are little green bugs that basically jst suck sap from plants. Well, these little bugs reproduce asexually. Meaning that they dont need a partner to reproduce. When corey said that it was an aphid attraction..he probably meant that there was jst a one way love in the relationship. It was only from him and didnt really have anyone loving since the girl was jst a bitch. As for part 2..i think its pretty much the same thing but in a calm way. Its pretty much like reminiscing the moments that you had with this girl and at 1st you're angry but then afterwards you think about it again but now in a sad mode. I actually have no idea if this is about his wife. There is a good possibility that it is since they have went their separate ways. As for dahlia...dahlia is a plant with a beautiful and colorful flower..probably jst stating that the girl was beautiful. as for dressed in all the rings...i havent a clue. anyways thats my imput..hope it helps... later -mike |

| exactly. I think that he is saying goodbye to who he was. I agree with DreamersDisease. But its not only about the relationship. Its about that person that he was 10 years ago. Im not going to say happy because he himself has states that he felt lonely without his father. But he felt "whole" , like what dreamersdisease said. He didnt need to rely on anyone and now thats all a dead memory that can never return. This memory is dead because of what he went through with Scarlett. Since they met he fell in love and needed her. Now that they went their separate ways, hes not complete anymore and doesnt think he can ever reach to that point like he was 10 years ago before he met Scarlett. Anyways, thats my imput into the song. An extraordinary song which is full of emotion. Gotta hand it to Corey the man can sing mein. I love All Hope Is Gone! | |

| Beautiful! When i heard Slipknot first 2 songs i thought this album was gonna be different than the vol 3 but i stand corrected. Its actually much more complex. Its amazing how Slipknot has such a wide range of music. All Hope Is Gone is a masterpiece with songs like this all the way to their usualy heavy stuff like Gematria and All Hope Is Gone. Now the meaning of this song. I sorta think its another love song like Vermilion both 1 and 2 in the past album. It might be even directed to Scarlet (his ex wife). It does seems that he sings it with a greaat passion like if the song means the world to him. Well all I can say is amazing. The lyrics are so meaningful. Keep up the good work Slipknot! | |

well...i know most of you think that this song is about either being lonely or about a stalker but i see this song in a different point of view. I think this song is about a man who had a wife/gf and she ended up breaking up with him. At first, he states that this woman was the world to him. He became nervous everytime that he saw her and that nothing was more important to him than her. He also states that he rests in her and that he is his home. Because he is thinking about this past relationship, like any other person he takes a pause and states that thinking about her only makes him sad because he though she was perfect for him until proven wrong. Next he states that he doesn't understand why he got so obsessed with her and that his love was one without lust. Then he says that they should carve his name into his face...like..stating that he is blind and that he does not see the truth. It is then followed by saying that being in love (pheromone cult) hurts a lot and that it terrorizes him. Next he says that he is a slave to this depression but at the same time he is the master and that he can do anything that he puts his mind into. It is then followed by himself, in an angered tone, that he can forget about her and that he only needs himself and what he has inside of him (his love for her) is what he despises because it is what keeps on killing him. He then says that he wont let it build up inside of him. Probably meaning that he wont let the depression continue and that he will put an end to this depression that he has due to her leaving. Lastly, he concludes the song saying that the girl that he once thought was perfect never really existed stating that she wasnt what he thought she was and says that he cant change her to be that perfect girl. Well guys, thats my opinion. I know many of you will disagree but hey, its an opinion. Later... stay (sic) |
