Okkervil River – Black Lyrics 16 years ago
Ive only seen this brought up once in a previous comment, but i agree with the person, because before i read any lyrics, the first time i listened to this song i heard these lyrics, and i still hear them every time i listen to it " I'd call, some black men, I'd fuck up his new life where they don't know what he did" Even though this may be considered "racist" by some, i think it goes along with the lead character's personality in this album, the character is very rough and uncouth and i could see him saying something, not out of hate but just simply because statistics show that the majority of gang affiliated males are of african american decent. And if youre wanting to go fuck up somebody's life illegally, a gang would probably be the easiest, hence the black men comment. It makes more sense then "black midnight" to me, and i personally think its a much better line (my personal favourite of the song). Just give it another listen and you'll hear "black men"

Say Hi – Dersmormos Lyrics 17 years ago
SO I'm pretty sure the lyrics "Bring out the credit card let's by a friend a rose" should be "Bring out the credit card let's buy a fender rhodes" It makes more sense to use a credit card to buy a fender rhodes (an expensive keyboard no longer being made) thenusing a credit card to buy a friend a rose. Just my thoughtd and what I;ve always thought it was when i listened to the song. Opinions?

Bon Iver – Skinny Love Lyrics 17 years ago
I was thinking the lines "I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines" could possibly mean like parking tickets, thus he'll have all the tickets, but its her fault so she'll be owning all the fines. He's blamed for the ruined relationship, but its really her fault and she should be the one responsible for paying for the lost relationship, not him.
