dustin is such an awesome writer, and i love how it's following up on the melting point of wax. i'm pretty sure he's a christian, so maybe the voice of reason being employed is what changed him between "oh gods!" and "oh god!". and i think it's also about a father giving his son as much freedom as he can and seeing what a mistake it is.

i only know a few people that listen to this cd, which is kind of funny cause (in my opinion) it's their best. i remember hearing in an interview that this song is about the heisenberg principle, which is way over my head, but i think it's also about knowing what makes your loved ones sad and being there for them, even if you don't fully understand it (as i don't fully understand the heisenberg principle.) |

hobom, you're so right. that idea strikes me every time i hear this song. "we're comatose but audible"; like descending into depression but it's so easy to see, and "friends" don't care enough to see it until it reaches the lowest level. of course this song (along with most songs that jesse writes) can be interpreted on so many levels, but this side of it just seems so prevalent. |
