Loquat – Swingset Chain Lyrics 16 years ago
Kylee recently explained on the band's blog the story behind the song and what inspired her to write it.

"My best friend Kari lives in Minnesota. We grew up together in MN, three doors down from each other. When I moved to California, it broke both of our hearts a little. Then she moved to Chicago for college. We spent eight years only seeing each other maybe once or twice a year. And then, to my delight, she moved to San Francisco and lived right down the street from me again. But it was not to last. The pull was too great for her to go back to Minneapolis, and that's when I wrote this song, with a broken heart."

Saving Abel – Addicted Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree wholeheartedly with wingedfeetxc. This song is extremely formulaic. It isn't a very good song either, lyrically or musically. But if you like it, cool. Music means different things to different people. With each life experience you gain in this short life, songs that you thought you knew all of sudden can have a different meaning, or maybe even the same meaning, but now it feels much stronger. It isn't your fault if you like this song or other bad songs. It's the record companies that keep pumping out these songs from bands that were thrown together by the record companies themselves or just don't have the life experience or talent to right good lyrics with good instrumentals. These bands enter the mainstream with these mediocre songs and the public eats it up because its something new. Unfortunately it's not new, it's the same formulaic band or song rehashed over and over again. For the young folks out there, do take his and my advice though...expand your horizons. Start with classic rock. I suggest The Band's "It Makes No Difference." You will see the difference of a band that knew how to write lyrics. If you can't stand their version listen to My Morning Jacket's cover version. Other good song writers you might want to look into...Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, & Bob Seger to name a few. Start there and move forward through the decades in music. If you like music for the emotions that you can pull from it, I assure you, you'll thank me.
