Hunters & Collectors – Throw Your Arms Around Me Lyrics 12 years ago
In my humble opinion, it doesn't detract from the song if it's indeed about a one night stand. Some of the most passionate and resonant romances are fleeting... and all the more powerful for it! A glimpse of of what may or may not be. Such a wistful song, always brings tears to my eyes.

Has anyone else ever noticed the "Believe it - you can see it" lines sound a lot like Phil Collins' Easy Lover?

**1984 SPOILER ALERT**

Stop the press!

I reckon untaym has it spot on...
I'm just annoyed he beat me to it haha.

I recently read 1984 and noticed that Winston and Julia start their affair on May 2 and it reminded me of the line in The Bitter End, which I've always remembered because its my birthday :). So I came on here to follow it up.

It all lines up perfectly...

The lines "Since we're feeling so anesthetised" and "Every broken bone" refer to the interrogation the two characters endure.

Also, Julia follows Winston home several times presumably before they start their relationship but the biggest giveaway is the lines "On this fateful day" and "From the time we intercepted; Feels more like suicide". In the novel, both characters are aware that they are doomed as soon as they begin their relationship ("We're running out of alibis; From the second of May").

To top it off, the two characters meet each other again briefly before their presumed death on a winters day ("See you at the bitter end" and "On this winter's day"), while a lullaby called Oranges and Lemons ("you shower me with lullabies") is an integral part of the story.

So there you have it. As soon as I read the lyrics in full it just lined up so nicely it couldn't just be coincidence, especially as 1984 is such a landmark book. For example thats where the term "Big Brother" comes from.
