I personally think this song has little or nothing to do with black people I mean you can apply to that but still. I think it has to do with both Busta Rhymes and Mike Shinoda and how hard it was to rise in their careers. |

Honestly I have no idea where you guys are at in discovering the meaning of the song. This is my first post so forgive my ignorance if I repeat what has already been pointed out. But in the third verse the song talks about "cavalry" maybe its "calvary" the place of Jesus's "death". It would make sense because in the previous line it talks about Jerusalem's bells ringing and there is a church located where calvary was and I would think that the bells would ring when its time for church thus the choir would start to sing. Also located there was the Church of the Holy Sepulchre which would be the "missionaries in a foreign field" since they were Christians in a Jewish city. |
