I didn't discover this song until this summer, but now it's the most played song that I've got. It's insanely catchy.. But I admit to not knowing the "Or does he just know how to leave, When it gets cold" lyric until now. Oh well. Also, I love how the song evolves: "But just wait my dear Till you look up there" Turns into "Think things move pretty fast down here But just wait my dear 'till we get up there" At the end. Are these two progressing in where they're going? |

I agree with the people that say that it's about a guy who let a girl go, and then realized that he was the one missing out. Between "You're not that easy to forget," "Cannot hide it," and the "It feels better to let go," which later turns to "I'm trying to let go," at the end of the song... It just seems like what makes the most sense. |

I think that the radio edit of this song is pretty good, and those who don't like the long intro should probably give that one more of a listen. But yeah, as everybody said, this song gets more creepy the more you pay attention to it. I mean.. "I will possess your heart I will possess your heart You reject my advances and desperate pleas I won't let you let me down so easily So easily" Really now? If that doesn't scream psycho, I don't know what does. |

This song was the song that really introduced me to The Strokes, and stuck out in my mind. I think it has to do with the beginning guitar rift. Anyways.. I think that the meaning of this song is pretty obvious. Guy doesn't like the relationship very much, gives the girl some false hope, and then leaves, probably because he doesn't feel like going through the hassle of the breaking-up process. |
