this song is about life. he's saying "You try so hard to find a rhythm in your heartbeat" which means that people are trying to find the meaning of life. he says "The less you know the more you want To try to justify the secrets of your lifetime" because nobody knows what life is really about and what the point of life is, so the less we know about it, the more curious we become. "In the end he'll come for us" just means that in the end, we die. "..He'll.." is refering to God, in case you didn't pick up on that. he says "So take care of you and I’ll take care of me" which is just him telling us that we should take care of ourselves and live life for ourselves, and not to please anybody else. He's telling us to enjoy our lives. "We’re just lonely hearts looking for melodies" is saying that we're all just a bunch of lonely people trying to find a reason to live and a way to be happy. "I’ve been looking for a safe way out Cause I’m in the habit of breaking young girls’ hearts is saying that hes been looking for the easy way to live, with nothing to hectic and crazy. he kind of just wants to live a relaxed and enjoyable life. the part about breaking young girls hearts is saying that hes just having fun in life, so he dates girls or uses girls to have fun. so hes really just using them for things like a one night stand, but the girl thinks that this will lead to a relationship, so he breaks their hearts. this is just what i think (: |

| i think meganxmonster has it perfectly right. when i first heard it, i thought she was the one who got raped but after i read megan's comment, i think she is right. her mom got raped by the singer's dad and her mom decided to have the baby. she is a "glass child" because she is very fragile now. "Turn the sheets down. Murder ears with pillow lace." that i think is talking about when her mom tucks her in at night, she can just imagine her dad raping her mom and she can just imagine her mom's screams. this song depresses me. it is an amazing song, but i get in a very depressed mood whenever i hear it. :'( i always felt incredibley bad for people who got raped, but for some reason, hearing about it in a song makes it seem more real. now i feel shitty about how i take my life for granted :/ haha. it takes a lot of guts to share a story like that in a song for everyone to hear and critisize. damn, this is a good song | |

| when i first heard this song, i was really young and i just knew that i liked the sound of it, i never knew he was talking about sex and drugs. after awhile, i forgot about the song until recentley when my friend started listening to it again. then i looked up the words and couldnt believe what i was reading haha. now i understand all his little drug refrences that i never knew were there. i still love this song and listen to it all the time, i just thought it was funny how i used to go around singing this to my parents and it was really about meth and sexy; lovely! :D yeah, well i still really like this song. except whoever wrote the lyrics didnt get all of them right, but whatever :) | |
