"chasing pavements" to me is the yearn and journey to find stability. pavement is where we feel safe, not out of the street or asphault. it's where we all should feel safe from danger. or metaphorically speaking, safe from rejection or loneliness.

This is my feel good song. Even though it has some parts where it brings back memories of better times. The drumming, the clapping, the simple melody in the background uplifts the listener. The lyrics on the other hand are nostalgic and bring forward a very good point that when we were young we never had a care in the world. At the end, the lyrics tell us that nothing ever really ever mattered anyway. "The sky could... Without you, it's a waste of time" is just simple lyrics to express that it was great that you were there to enjoy it with me. The second lyric to that part "Could be grey. Without you, I'm just miles away" also brings that thought of the feeling of belonging to the world. That we meant something. All in all, it's a very happy tune, but within it's just a very reminiscent song of a better time.

I think it's pretty awesome because this cd being about life brings us to this beginning of birth, a life of technicolor. Nothing needs to be said like a new born baby into the world. Life has just begun and all around you is new and different. Then at the end death, little needs to be said because all is done.

I love how this disc begins with Life in Tehnicolor and ends with a recap of it in this song. Just knowing that this cd is about life. The beginning gives the symbolism of being born into this world of being unique. Thus, the technicolor. Then Death and All His Friends captures the stillness and the whole "all of what we've done is now history so let us be calm" persona. Back into Life in Technicolor with thoughts on that it's not over when we come to a halt in this "dream", now lying awake from a dream of escape.
