Not one of the best Dino albums but easily in the top ten songs Mascis has ever written. The lyrics are some of his best. In all honesty, this is one of the least experimental songs they've ever done (minus the metal riffage, this is a pretty normal albeit pretty pretty pop song) but who the fuck cares? gorgeous. |

This is a great song but I think it's not necessarily any better than the (relatively) more polished songs on The Freed Man or Weed Forestin', it just happens to be on a more acclaimed album. Very pretty though |

For the record, I read an interview with Lou where he said he apparently didn't have health insurance when his kid was born, thus he let the song play on the OC. No one seems to have cried sell out yet but I just thought I'd point out. |

Someone on Mark Prindle's site seems to think this was written by Gary Young and says that Malkmus says "Gary wasted all his precious time" in the lyrics. Dunno if it has any validity but interesting. This dude also claims to have seen this song live, so maybe they said something about it live. |
