Moss Icon – What They Lack Lyrics 17 years ago
to me this song is about being true to your self and your emotions.personally, the word determination rings out../self-preservation......and instead of faults baby....it was: your seeing false vision.

Moss Icon – memorial Lyrics 17 years ago
i remember 1991 being a very intense year with the build up to what was known as desert storm. ie. iraq war #1 and this song originated at that time.we went to many many protest in DC at that time, and we even organized and performed one in annapolis( drums included) , the police followed us until we dispersed. although the war-drums were banging with fervor, the country had not taken the full force step toward fascism it has turned into today. although i have never seen the vietnam memorial up-close, their have been times, that i have seen it,and it has moved me to tears because it is so powerful.

Moss Icon – I'm Back Sleeping, or Fucking, or Something Lyrics 17 years ago
removeyourteeth: i know what you are saying and i remember in my mind`s eye: it was something more like( and i will have to write it out phonectically: jowls-a-gumm,and it very well could have been a chinese word........will have to find out later.energy: i remember him saying "peanut butter sandwiches, pretty cool man`" and bigg robb: i think you summed it up perfectly.....it is very apocolyptic-sounding......on a personal note, i am very inspired by all of your comments......this song and mirror are both very intense for myself, and have deep deep meaning for the inner-recesses of my soul.20 years later, and i am still trying to comprehend the orgins of just how crazy, creative, and intense it all was.thanx for letting me share.

Moss Icon – As Afterwards the Words Still Ring Lyrics 17 years ago
In regard to the last 2 comments made, can i say that although i have lost touch with jon vance, i have known him since 1986-87 when moss icon 1st started.(i always thought it was "nothing like a nigger before the dawn" but i could be wrong as well)
just to give you a little background: before moss icon started jon used to go to punk shows in very run down sections of baltimore city, and the "locals" did not like seeing the colorful punxs from the suburbs, and i think he got beatup by some blacks, yet i never remember him being racist because of it.this was relected in the lyrics to a song called sorrw, which for those who know of the demo tape will know of the song.also, jon`s 1st wife who he had a child with was black.the lyrics and moss icon transcend anything as low as racism.

ps. one thing that most people do not know and was never publicized, jon is directly related to edgar allen poe.
