people obviously don't appreciate bright eyes enough if they think conor is tuneless. it makes me happy that snow patrol obviously listen to bright eyes, two of the best bands around the studio version (thankyou for that link by the way) is way better than when they do it live, sounds much better and I'm actually surprised how well they've covered it. still, can't really beat bright eyes at his own songs. |

But I don't really want you to stop and you know it so it doesn't stop you" that first bit makes it sound like they're just like happily teasing eachother as they wake up together, but then he goes into how much he loves her and how it's "been all I will remember" I think it's different to chasing cars, maybe happier? one of the best on the new album though, definitely :) |

"You say you'll sew me good as new and I know you will" I'm more inclined to think with lyrics like that, it's the beginning of a relationship and she's saying that she'll "sew" him better, but he doesn't know how to express his own feelings to her, so yeah like 3lancer said, he feels awkward but just wants to be able to say it all. lovely song :) |

"When you held onto me like I was your little life raft Please know that you were mine as well" That's just heartbreakingly nice, snow patrol just get better. I love all the storm metaphors throughout it, how in the first bit he seems to be talking about their relationship being a storm, like exciting and powerful and how she is "the lightning in me" and then it continues in the second part with "accidents of faith and nature", because obviously storms and weather are parts of nature, and he's comparing them with that like it is natural that they have come together as a pair but they needed faith to carry it on and everything, and that she can "stop waving your arms, you're safe and dry", I just imagine that like her in some masssive stormy sea and he's just felt like he has rescued her from it and then obviously the last bit, with the life rafts and that he suddenly felt his worth in the middle of the flood, like they are relying on one another so much and.. yes. :) amazing song, I love it. |

"you always ask if I'm ok, but it's not the same as being happy" aww :( reminds me of When Harry Met Sally, when harry tells her that he never takes any girl to the airport, because when the relationship fades, they wonder why he never goes to say goodbye to them anymore. I was going to say this could be about him being on tour and flying around and having loads of girls after him and she's just there reminding him of how he used to be but I'm not sure :D |

I agree with greenzob, I think this is about a pair of best friends who like each other but are worried about ruining their friendship alsoo, when she's talking about not knowing the colour of his eyes, maybe it means he won't look her in the eye because he knows if he does he won't be able to hide what he is feeling. lovely song though :) |
