| Senses Fail – Irony of Dying on Your Birthday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| this is definitely my favorite senses fail song. i totally agree with what he's trying to get across, if i am interpreting it right. i feel like hes trying to say how very few people are remembered after time progresses. he uses examples like God and jim morrison to explain how they are significantly "famous" and will not be forgotten. i think in the chorus, he basically says how he starts drinking and going depressed because he cant reach a famous position. i feel the serial killer line is him reachign a breaking point where if he cant acheive fame, killing someone may be the best way to do it. the title confuses me a bit, but the closest thing i can relate is that if someone dies on their birthday, it might give them a little remembrance of them | |

my bad, just a few adjustments... We don't sleep very much These triggers ache for the touch Where's the strength we relied on? Fear alone, like a crutch, maybe that's what keeps us up all night with the light on All these screams, simulate, Lives that no longer take place Can this be what we've become? Paper thin, overweight, pills to arouse or sedate Still we don't know what we want We can't let go Can't you see? To lose control is to be... Finally free! First a spark Then a flame Now a fire We explode into the darkest of nights disconnect cut the cord lines are dead Now they'll know with everything comes a price And each day we are torn between the right and the wrong between life and convenience Why lose sleep? Why complain? There's always channels to change It's like elective amnesia As we grow older in this place Let's just start over Let's erase What they've made! First a spark Then a flame Now a fire We explode into the darkest of nights disconnect cut the cord lines are dead Now they'll know with everything comes a price It could be minutes away It could be hours or days Before the bottom falls out Before the ground gives way Into this debt we are born A debt we try to repay And yet we blacken the sky Smoke rising out of the flames Now they'll know... First a spark Then a flame Now a fire We explode into the darkest of nights disconnect cut the cord lines are dead Now they'll know with everything comes a price (First a spark) (Then a flame) (Now a fire) We explode We explode With everything comes a prince (disconnect) (cut the cord) (lines are dead) We explode We explode these sound perfect, but that "all these screams simulate" part is still a bit hard to make out |

REAL LYRICS We don't sleep very much These triggers ache for the touch Where's the strength we relied on? Fear alone, like a crutch, maybe that's what keeps us up all night with the light on All these screams emulate Lives that no longer take place Can this be what we've become? Paper thin, overweight, pills to arouse or sedate Still we don't know what we want We can't let go Can't you see? To lose control is to be... Finally free! First a spark Then a flame Now a fire We explode into the darkest of nights disconnect cut the cord lines are dead Now they'll know with everything comes a price And each day we are torn between the right and the wrong between life and convenience Why do we sleep? Why complain? There's always channels to change It's like elective amnesia As we grow older in this place Let's just start over Let's erase What they've made! First a spark Then a flame Now a fire We explode into the darkest of nights disconnect cut the cord lines are dead Now they'll know with everything comes a price It could be minutes away It could be hours or days Before the bottom falls out Before the ground gives way Into this debt we are born A debt we try to repay And yet we blacken the sky Smoke rising out of the flames Now they'll know... First a spark Then a flame Now a fire We explode into the darkest of nights disconnect cut the cord lines are dead Now they'll know with everything comes a price (First a spark) (Then a flame) (Now a fire) We explode We explode With everything comes a prince (disconnect) (cut the cord) (lines are dead) We explode We explode anyway, i still have trouble telling what it's about. from the actual title, you think it would mean something about choosing (elective) to forget everything (amnesia). but the lyrics dont always cover that, unless amnesia just refers to complete chaos in a person (we explode; lines are dead). other than that, i still am trying to interpret it. what yosh said about the reference to injection seems quite possible too, but not completely |

my all time favorite song by far. i pick up many things in this song, like some sort of addiction (most likely drugs) and some sort of messed up relationship. whatever the case is, this person is depressed and maybe has resorted to taking drugs (Knees are weak, hands are shaking, I can't breathe So give me the drug, keep me alive) I think that maybe the other person in the once great relationship is who this person feels they need in order to get their life back on the right track. (Guide me through uncharted waters Before we lose our way again) This song, in my opinion, is Rise Against's best song and it should be more popular |

| Rise Against – Entertainment Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| one of my favorite songs on this album, right next to savior and re-education. its definitely about the life of celebrities and big stars who do not have a good life at all, although to people it seems like they are truly living life. i love the beginning and that carnival sounding part. | |

i have to agree with rocky1867 on the meaning. the guy probably is not not a good man, whether it be morally or socially or whatever. the girl says although she knows they may not be able to function, she wants to help him recover from his negative state. during the verses of the song, i think he is sayin that the break up had already come, and he had become a worse person, and still loved his old girl. its one of my favorites on the album along with entertainment and re-education. i still wnated it to be more hardcore like everyone else tho |

AMAZING song for sure. I have a feeling its a metaphor for many things. it can actually be about once ruling the world and than having no power, but it can also be somethnig about a relationship he once had that was amazing and he completely screwed it up and feels horrible. I used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sleep alone Sweep the streets I used to own talks about how he falled from great power and now is thinking about it I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my enemies' eyes Listened as the crowd would sing Now the old king is dead, long live the king One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand he once had enough power to cause a great deal of fear upon enemies, or just bragging about his power, and then it went away and he realized it might have not been that great [referring to his pillars of sand and salt] I hear Jerusalem bells were ringing Roman cavalry choirs were singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you'd gone there was never Never an honest word And that was when I ruled the world when he ruled, he was amazing thing for everyone, but now, things are much worse It was a wicked and wild wind Blew down the doors to let me in Shattered windows and the sound of drums People couldn't believe what I'd become Revolutionaries wait For my head on a silver plate Just a puppet on a lonely string Oh, who would ever want to be king? thinking that maybe such power was not so great after all and is starting to have second thoughts or maybe just convincing himself that it wasnt great |

| Three Days Grace – Pain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is not the best one on the album...anyway, i think its about self-damage, and the speaker is saying to the person theyre reaching out to how the pain will be pleasureable once they find they have more of a negative outlook on things "when the lights go off you'll understand " | |
