| Rise Against – Swing Life Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's about highschool. Basically just being a teenager and being in love with someone. I think he's remembering what it was like back then, when he didn't have so many worries or responsibilities or anything. | |

| I kind of think this is about Twilight. I mean, it sounds like what Edward wants to do to Bella, but would never do because he would never hurt her intentionally. | |

This song is prolly the most annoying, egotistical, obnoxious song on earth. Consequently, that makes it awesome ^.^ I am SO playing this at a pep rally! |

| Tokio Hotel – On The Edge Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| For me, it's about my friend. She's been through some horrible things that no one should ever have to experience. To me, the scars represent the permanent mental/emotional damage these experiences have caused. She's not coming back means that she'll never be the same. She's still there but no one cares is about how her parents really don't give a damn about her. This song could also be about cutting, but this is how I see it. | |
| Tokio Hotel – Monsoon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this song is about depression. Not constant depression, but like... Periodical depression. Where someone gets depressed for a while, then gets over it, then gets depressed again. That kind. But that this person has someone to help them to get over it. "And when I lose myself, I'll think of you". These people are battling the monsoon (depression) into a place where the rain won't hurt (idk what exactly, whatever makes them happy, I spose). I may be totally off, and I'll elaborate more if needed, but I'm braindead right now, so this is the best I've got. | |
| The Veronicas – Take Me On The Floor Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think actually the bridge is a metaphor. I wanna kiss a girl may mean that she wants to do something different, try something new. Then back to I wanna kiss a boy, she wants to go back into her comfort zone. And so on. | |
| The Veronicas – Hook Me Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I'm tired of my life I feel so inbetween I'm sick of all my friends Girls can be so mean -There's drama in their group of friends. She's tired of being in the middle of it all, tired of her mean friends.- I feel like throwing out Everything I wear Starting over new Cuz I'm not even there -She wants to start over because she is invisible to everyone around. In my case, my friends are way more popular and outgoing than I am and I want to start over because no one really knows me.- Sometimes I wanna get away someplace But I don't wanna stay too long Sometimes I want a brand new day Try to fit in where I don't belong -She wants to escape from her current life and all the stress. She's trying to fit in with new people and she feels she doesn't belong or that they're making her unwelcome. I've felt like. I've wanted to get away from my school when trying to hang out with different groups because it's so clear that I don't belong there.- Hooooooook, hook me up I wanna feel the rain in my hair Hoooooooook, hook me up Where should we go? I don't even care -She's saying take her away from her school/work/whatever. Maybe the rain soothes her, calms her down. She wants to be anywhere except where she is currently.- Anywhere is good enough Hook me up Hook me up -She doesn't care where she goes, she just wants to get away.- I like the lights turned out The sound of closing doors -She likes to be alone or have alone time.- I'm not like other girls Who always feel so sure Of everything they are Of what they're gonna be Sometimes I'm just a girl stuck inside of me -She's very unsure of who she is and is just trying to figure it all out. Her friends all know what they're going to do and who they are, but she's unsure. "Stuck inside of me" means she wants to be somebody else or be different than how she is now. She doesn't like herself.- Sometimes I wanna disappear someplace But I don't wanna stay too long Sometimes I'm feeling so alone Try to fit in where I don't belong -She wants to go away. Nobody's there for her, so she feels lonely.- They're gonna crash and burn I'm gonna find a way Nothing left to say -She realizes she doesn't need to surround herself with the people she normally does, that the path they're taking will cause them to "crash and burn". She's going to find a way to make things right with herself. There's nothing left to say because she's made up her mind.- |

| This song is NOT about drugs. Go here: http://www.musicremedy.com/t/The_Veronicas/album/Hook_Me_Up-5052.html. They say in an interview that they use the phrase hook me up to mean "take me away from here, from reality and the stress of life.. an escape. just for a minute." | |

| I apologize for the double post, my computer's being retarded. I just wanted to say a few more things. One, tAtU is not a les band. Their manager had them portrayed that way to gain publicity. Two, The Veronicas didn't actually write 4ever. It's one of few songs on the album that they didn't have a hand in writing. Three, their music videos were not directed by them. They did not much say in what they would be doing. That's the industry. | |

Another interpretation Here we are, so watcha gonna do? Do I gotta spell it out for you? I can see that you've got other plans for tonight But I don't really care -They're already with each other somewhere. She's flirting and dropping hints that she wants to go somewhere else with him. She's challenging him. Testing him. He doesn't get it, which is why she says,"Do I gotta spell it out for you?". He has other plans for the evening (not necessarily meaning that he has a girlfriend, it could be anything really) but she doesn't care about them. Size me up, you know I beat the best -She's confident that she's better looking than anyone else and assumes he thinks that too- Tick tock, no time to rest -She's getting impatient with him, possibly because he's wasting time- Let them say what they gonna say Cuz tonight, I just don't really care -She doesn't care what other people will think because it's just an opinion- C'mon baby, we ain't gonna live forever Let me show you all the things that we could do -She's telling him to move on, that he's wasting time here. To convince him, she'll show him what they could do (which again, doesn't have to be sexual). You know you wanna be together And I wanna spend the night with you -She's telling him that she knows he likes her, even if it's slight. "I wanna spend the night with you" meaning, let's hang out, go somewhere, do something. That doesn't have to be sexual either.- Come with me tonight We can make the night last forever -She's continuing to tell him to go with her. "Make the night last forever" means that they will have a memorable night, one that lives on in their memories years from that night- I've seen it all, I've got nothing to prove C'mon baby, just make your move -"Seen it all" means she's been through many experiences. "Nothing to prove" means she's telling him that she shouldn't have to prove herself to him because she already has. She's shown him that she could be worthwhile or that she likes him or whatever, and now she's waiting for him to prove himself. Or flirt back. Whichever. Follow me, let's leave it all behind tonight Like we just don't care -She's telling him to leave behind all the stress and problems of their everyday lives as if they didn't care, let loose, and have fun.- Let me take you on the ride of your life That's what I said, alright? -She's telling him that he'll have the best night of his life if he goes with her. He doesn't believe her, so she has to repeat herself.- Let's pretend you're mine -She's telling him to just pretend that they're dating, that it doesn't have to be official. To get to know her before he makes any decisions.- You got what I like -She values his qualities- Oh come on, just one taste and you'll want more -She's promises that he won't regret going with her and that he'll want to spend even more time with her- So tell me what you're waiting for -After all she's said, all she's done, she wants to know why he's stalling |

For the people that are trashing The Veronicas, I just wanna point out a few things. Duh, you're entitled to your own opinion. But there's a way of expressing your opinions without being a jerk. Some of you have that, some don't. The Veronicas are one of my favorite bands. I've seen them in concert, and they are absolutely awesome. Their voices are near perfection, and I say near because sometimes they aren't strong enough to support a high note. That's not a huge issue. I was fortunate enough to meet them after the show and they are among the sweetest people I've ever met. No one here can say they're sluts unless they know The Veronicas personally. As for the actual song, get your minds out of the gutter! Songs are open to interpretation, but why do you guys jump to the worst case scenario? I've actually found deep meaning in this song. True, the lyrics aren't great, they shouldn't matter if there's a deep meaning. Yeah, they're singing about a guy they want to spend the night with (which does NOT automatically mean sex) but at the same time, they're conveying a message that every moment is precious. You may never relive the same moment or feel the same way as you did in the past. They're telling saying to make the most of your life. Live life to the extent. Obviously, everyone's got different opinions about this song. Maybe it's not your style. But is it so hard to at least respect that maybe somebody else actually likes it? |
