I think this song is about him falling in love and dating this girl, but he's scared that she'll cheat on him, but he knows in his heart that it's just his imagination. "Demons of my own design" "the echoes of my voice follow me down the shadows I cast follow me down" meaning that everything he did wrong is coming with him. Then later she broke up with him and he is sorrowful. Hence "the arms of sorrow". To quote someone else, "Stop me before I bleed again is also an amazing line...it's like, stop me before I go too far again, trying to fight my way out of this." As if trying to keep himself from fighting with her because he knows it's just his imagination. |
