this is to one last day in the shadows and to a brother's love, this is for new york city angels and rivers of our blood. pretty strong stuff right there and definitely references 9/11. i think the song was written as a song about grabbing life by the throat and not letting anything get in the way of being alive. but 9/11 references are scattered all over it so it definitely works both ways. |

Does anyone know who the "they" are throughout this album. I would say the band refers to "they" on half of the album. This one, cemeteries of london, 42, yes. Anyone have any ideas on this? |

this song is amazing. just amazing. so simple, probably the most simple on the entire album, but the most powerful. Does anybody else here echoes of The Beatles in "the escapist"? The "an in the end" part. I think we all know what the Beatles said at the end of Abbey Road. Could that be some kind of a slight tribute? It gives me chills. |
