thanks for that. i couldnt get it straight in my head what exactly this song meant to me, but through your interpretation of this song i can now see that this song is describing a place where i have been. at the lowest of lows... and finding my way to Him. i find comfort in the fact that God will never put anything on my plate that i cannot handle. He believes in me. He thinks i'm strong. |

| I'm also away at college... my roommmate was so stoked about the release of this cd that i bought it for her for her birthday. i'm a t. swift fan, but didnt figure i would like the new stuff as much as her first album. anyway the whole cd made me feel emotional, but the last verse of this song brought me to tears. Especially the "I know you were on my side even when I was wrong" part. I called my mom and told her to youtube it and we listened to it together. I had to tell her how important she was to even though we are 300 miles apart. | |

okay. i agree with almost everyone on some parts of their analysis. this is such an amazing song that can have many meanings for many different people. for me this is what it means: girl meets boy girl and boy fall in love they break up, but they both know it's not for good. so they "try to get up".. they get back together, but it isnt the same for him.. not as strong for him, but she still madly in love with him. finally he realizes that he cant live a lie anymore and has to tell her that he's given up on them. ("you never let go, but i let go") he's tounge-tied and terrifed of how to tell her that he doesnt love her anymore. he doesnt want to hurt her, but he cant live this lie. he knows he's breaking her heart and that breaks his heart. the guitar is amazing mayday is my favorite band and this is my all time favorite song even though it brings me to tears almost everytime i listen to it. |
