I'm glad some people noticed the drunk aspect of the meaning. Certain lines ("Just put back the car keys... or somebody's gonna get hurt") are dead giveaways to it being about a man getting drunk, his girlfriend trying to tell him that he is so, him getting angry (maybe violent), and just leaving. The line at the end ("Smash") is supposed to represent the boyfriend's car crashing into someone else's because he's drunk (drunk driving isn't a good thing, kiddies). |

I've never really known what this one means, but I agree with WEBB. It's one of my favorite Live songs mostly because of the amazing imagery it provokes. Especially around these lines: Everybody's anxious The crowd is all around us The followers of Aldous Are spinning with their mescaline A man behind the altar screams You stole my idea You were my idea! I always imagine a crowded courthouse with a bunch of guys in black suits sitting in rows in front of a judge and a man behind the witness booth. Suddenly, that man stands up, points at someone, and yells "You were my idea!". Great stuff. |

| I agree with both unc1emoe and child. It's probably about someone who attempted suicide but either didn't go through with it, or they just messed it up. Which is why they've got cuts and bruises on them, causing others to look away from them and hide their faces in disgust. Kind of makes you wonder what type of suicide they actually attempted... | |
