That makes sense, and they sang "Go ahead and wreck your health" just not to swear (I believe it would have been a no-goer in the early 60's for radio coverage if 'hell' was mentioned).

Billy Edd Wheeler really made this song. When I looked at his bio, it really makes sense that it's about Jackson, TN. Thanks for explaining this, it's been bothering me for ages! (Well, to be honest, at least ever since I've found out that there are cities called Jackson in the south... by then, I had just thought that 'Jackson' is a shorter form for Jacksonville, FL... forgive my ignorance, if you can =D

The best song from the Doors. I also reckon that the last repeat of And your mind is actually And you're mine. Always heard it that way. Optical promise... some sort of visualization of a wish... or a curse? The name of the song would make more sense, when this wanna-be Shaman not only tells about reading the minds, but also throws a spell on the new boyfriend. You = Lost girlfriend, He = New boyfriend. And Jimbo no happy ;) |
