| Loch Lomond – Carl Sagan Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| No love for Loch Lomond? They're one of the loveliest bands I've ever heard. I was lucky enough to buy the CD from the lead singer after an Of Montreal concert. I had a bit of a crush on the xylophonist. <3 | |

Lovely. Poor little Achilles. I always imagined this as a cricket game, though. |

I read a bit of an interview that said he "just fucked it up," and was "probably drunk." Good show. I love both versions of this song, and mostly the fact that it connects two fabulous musicians. |

| The Decemberists – A Cautionary Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Because the 'gentlemen' are calling and the snow is softly falling on her petticoat." Definitely meant to sound sad. I like the interpretation of this as an actual, spooky cautionary song but I think the diction in certain bits [like above, "or screaming," "weeping," etc.] make it seem like it's Colin adding his own empathy into a retelling. Quite a lovely song. |
