| Say Anything – Admit It!!! Lyrics | 17 years ago |

okkay. ive found the truth. heres an interveiw with max about this song: "Admit It!!" is a brilliantly scathing anthem aimed directly at this new "indie movement": were there any specific events or incidents that inspired you to pen the lyrics, or were you more motivated over the general feeling of the "scene". I grew up in L.a, which at the time (turn of the century) had this scene revolving around certain bands made of people who were so afraid to be sincere that they were almost mean, and boy did they prosper. I moved away from them to go to school at Sarah Lawrence College in New York because I thought there would be more integrity on the opposite coast and it was there that I learned shame and pretension wasn’t constricted to any group of people; we are all guilty of it. The song isn’t about “fall out boy fans” or “hipsters”. It’s about anyone who judges other people because they’re “normal.” It’s about you and I because everyone does it sometimes. The only thing you can do is fight that ego and be proud of the things in your life that are true |

| Say Anything – Plea (feat. Hayley Williams & Kenny Vasoli) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i was listening to this. and was like woahh, why do i hear kenny. and i kept listening over and overr, and than it was! which made this song so much more amazing than it already was. because kenny and max are two of my favorite vocalists. and for them to both be in a song, with lyrics such as this. is a great thing |

| Say Anything – It's a Metaphor, Fool Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
max was mentally ill. while writing this album, he has to be put in an instatution for like two weeks cause the stress of trying to make ...is a real boy into a rock opera made him believe that everyone was a cannibal hired to eat him. when he got out, they gave up on the rock opera concept. and continued. andyeahh, hes bipolar. so it could be about his mental illnesses. but knowing mex, its probally a metaphor(duhh) about sex. |

| Say Anything – Slumming It With Johnny Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i love the part where it says: free yourself from mental prostitution. it reminds me of that bob marley quote: emancipate yourself from mental slavery. max is the best lyricist, ever. everything he says, is so poetic, in the greatest way. |

| Say Anything – Transylvanian Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"feel my eyes slide over you legs that curve the same as hers could run as quickly too" grreeaaat lines. im guesssing that this part means, that he realizes simalirties, in not only the girls looks, and a past lover, but also im guessig in personality, and hes afraid that she could leave him just as his past lover |
|
| Say Anything – Retarded in Love (feat. Casey Prestwood, Chris Carrabba & Michael Auerbach) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
i think its about, two people. who are, noticable different from society. maybe a little bit like outcasts. and they are friends, but obviously, have deeper feelings for eachother. when it says: "And in this moment... La, la da da da da da, la da da da Da da, la da da da da da They'll be fallin' in love..." i can picture the two of them standing next to eachother. and than, all of a sudden holding hands, and becoming open with the fact they are falling for eachother. and than, max, admitting his feelings and everything for her, and hoping that she feels the same. and they both do. and theyre excited about falling for eachother, but worried that it may be the worst thing for both of them thus making them retarded in love, because the relationship if weird, and confusing and quirky. |

i dont think this song is about "emos" or "scenesters" by the lyrics, im pretty sure. its about hipsters. and alot of the people that live in l.a. and shop in thrift stores, and complain about bush and think they know everything about indie music and art. its also about, being a hypocrit. about those people, bashing the "normal people" but in the end being exactly like them. and than about max, not conforming to these things, even if it means having no friends, and being proud of who he is |
