| Mando Diao – Never Seen the Light of Day Lyrics

Gustaf talked about this song in an interview recently. He said that it was about an incident in Borlänge. A girl was together with a guy, and the guy took to much drugs. The guy and his brother started to belive that the girl was against them, so they locked her in a basement and tortured her. The police found out after a week or so. This happened very close to Gustaf's home, and he knew who the guys were since he had gone to the same school as them. But whenever he saw them, he used to walk another way. He said that you could say that it was about a girl breaking free from a bad realtionship. |

| Mando Diao – TV & Me Lyrics

Well, you could go deep with this song, I think.
I read how someone analyzed this song and figured out that is is about Jesus. Gunned down in a fight, (well, maybe not gunned, but still) it was a bloody plesure, since he sacrificed himself for the human race. He can't walk (the nails in his feet), but he's not dead. At the end there's a light.
And Jesus will come if we just stop sitting around and watching lousy tv-shows. We should do something that makes sence.
How ever, I don't think that Gustaf and Björn thought of this. I think it's like brideofwalken said :) |

"Killer tune! It's so thrilling to do live. Everyone gets into it. I think it's cus of the grove. The song is based on a baseline, very bluesy. I think the baseline came from listening to All eyes on me with 2pac. If you search that album I bet you'll find it somewhere. The lyrics' all; We're what's happening - you're not" - Gustaf Norén |

"My favorite song from Bring ‘em in just because I´ve written it. It´s about a little left-political guy from Falun (a city close to Borlänge). Anyway I had a big fight with him about politics and after that I wanted to put him down I someway. So I wrote this great song since it was the best way to show that he was under me…" - Björn Dixgård |

Listen to the begininng of the song. Where it just sounds like they sing "Uuuuuhuuuuuhuuuh", they're singing "Bjööööööörn Olsson". And if you'll open the album, you'll find a picture of Björn Olsson, who should have produced Ode To Ochrasy, but backed out when he realized how many people who would listen to it. You'll also find the text "This album could have been produced by Björn Olsson". He produced Never Seen The Light Of Day, though.
I love their sence of humor, I wonder who came up with the Bjöööööörn idea :)
Great song! |

| Mando Diao – Paralyzed Lyrics

"I don't even remember writing this one. I had a kind of a strange week in 99 or something. We went to a lot of party’s and drank a lot. The lyrics are from several dreams I had that week. It was a scary week, a real horror one. We always use to say that if you like Paralyzed you like Mando. It just speaks our language. Don't know why, cus it's simple maybe." - Gustaf Norén
He's also said that most Swedes dislike Paralyzed, 'cause it's so simple, and Swedes are too academic for it.
But he thought that it's all about the feeling of the song, not how difficult it is to play, or how clever the lyrics are. |

"It was written on a bus on the way to school. I wanted to a simple pop song. I don't like it that much on the album, but live, it's a completely different thing. It sounds like a Clash classic when we do it. I feel fire when I sing it. The lyric is about a friend of Björn. It's a celebration to American music." - Gustaf Norén |

| Mando Diao – Searching For Owls Lyrics

Isn't it supposed to be "When the owls are whispering out 'I love you'" instead of "When your out I whisper loud".
And "I quit my eyes with pure alcohol" insted of "I quit my ice". He quits his eyes with alcohol, he falls a sleep with help from alcohol. I don't really know if you can say it that way in English, but you can in Swedish, and I think that they just translated it :P
Well, it's a great song! :) |

"A typical fifty-fifty Dixgård/Norén song. I was sitting at home with this great verse… but needed this great chorus… After a little while Gustaf turned up. I played the verse for him and then he said “I´ve got a great chorus for that verse” We tried it and it was magic! The lyrics are just a love song to the good music nothing else…" - Björn Dixgård |

"I didn't like it when the rock culture became all posh and everyone was bisexual. You know Placebo, Pulp, Nicky Wire from Manics and Damon Albarn were all in it. Even Cure were getting popular again. They didn't know fuck about real life. All of a sudden I didn't find rock attractive anymore. And it was killing me. I was convinced that it was all up to me and Björn to change it. Every song on Bring 'em in is about this. Shaping up Rock 'n' roll, especially this one." - Gustaf Norén |

| Mando Diao – Sheepdog Lyrics

"I remember the riff is written while walking from the bus stop to school. The whole song is inspired by two Sly Stone songs. The riff is from the baseline of "If you want me to stay" and the vers and yeah yeah yeah is from "Underdog", and of course the title. If you listen to this song you won't find any resembles. I just stole the vibe, not one note! The lyric starts of pretty hard, maybe even mean, but it's just so you'll get into the song as fast as possible. Later on it really turns into a sweet love song. Anyway, the song is a classic, a Mando top 3." - Gustaf Norén |

| Sugarplum Fairy – It Takes Time, It Take Two Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
Okay, here's my guess: this song is about Victor, Carl and their older brother Gustaf (of Mando Diao).
Victor has been irritating Gustaf a lot. You know, like little brothers do, he's been "singing to you loud" and so on. Gustaf got really angry, and he locked Victor in their basement. "Does it hurt now?" is Gustaf trying to teach Victor a lesson. He wants to make him understand that he never should imbaresse him in front of his friends or something like that, again.
The "you better come back" is Victor saying that Gustaf better come back, or else, he'll tell mum. Carl is a bit older than Victor, he's kind of stuck in the middle. 'Cause Gustaf is a bit more mature and has those cool friends, but he's also controlling. With this song, Victor tries to convince Carl that he should release him from the basement. And that they can be better than Gustaf if they work together. It will take time, they have to be two, but they won't let Gustaf control them any more. Lol! :) |

| Mando Diao – Chi Ga Lyrics

They've said that Chi Ga was this girl who used to work in a steel facory in Borlänge. She thought that she knew everything, but really didn't know a shit about anything. She said that Björn (at least I think it was Björn, could have been Gustaf) was nothing, and with this song they're saying the same thing to her in this song. :P |
