i think this song is about someone encountering a suicidal drunk on the street on new years eve and trying to help him out a little. it could also be interpreted as a sort of warning to not to end up like that |

i think this song is about a dude who is involved with some gangster dudes and he fucked them over. hes walking to get on the train after work and some guys start chasing him. he knows that when they catch him theyre gonna kill him so he sees the train coming he just dives in front of it. he would rather kill himself than be murdered |

it looked like dicky got kinda teary eyed while singing this songwhen i saw them play at the hometown throwdown 07. at the kinda slow parts of the song he was holding his hand up to his face like he was holding a camera and clicking the button :) he also brought his 12 year old daughter on stage to say hi to everyone at the begining of the show. when i saw them back in like 01 dicky brought his mom onstage and everyone was yelling hi mrs barrett. i think its pretty cool that he shares the spotlight with his family like that. |

The Broad Street Riot occurred in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 11, 1837. The riot began when a company of English firefighters met with an Irish funeral procession on Broad Street. Fighting broke out, and eventually 1000 people were included in the melee, though no one was killed. Several houses were broken into and vandalized, and the rioters launched rocks and other missiles at each other. The fight was eventually broken up by the military. |

this song is not about kurt cobain. its a song about someone getting beat up by one of the many junkies in boston and not really caring about what happened to himself because he knows the other guy is much more worse off than him. |
