The riff in the middle is from "Come Together" This song has some great lyrics, for example: "Look around at all the plastic people who live without a care Try to sit with me around my table but never bring a chair" |

I think this song is about fame and how it changes people ("how many special people change?"). I think the line "Where were you while we were getting high?" are showing how many "stars" turn to drugs. The lines "Slowly walking down the hall, Faster than a cannon ball" mean that fame seems like it lasts forever but it really happens very quickly. Then, when you do something wrong and crash and burn, everyone will know ("Someday you will find me, Caught beneath a landslide, In a champagne supernova in the sky"). I think the second verse means that famous people believe that they're invincible and above others. Then, the lines: "Cause people believe that they're Gonna get away for the summer But you and I, we'll never die The world's still spinning round We don't know why Why, why, why, why" ...I think those mean that some people think they are above others, like most famous people, but really we're all just people, and we all live and die and the world keeps spinning 'round with or without us. I don't think Noel wrote this song to really mean anything, but this is just how I interpret it =] |

I think the slower part means you were so wrapped in the past and overcome with grief that you wasted your life. Also, the lines "Time is so short and I’m sure there must be something more" might mean that you realized what you have done, but you're too late and now you're just hoping that there's something else after this. The next part is more confusing. Maybe it's like after you've died, you were stuck in Purgatory? You didn't do anything wrong, but you didn't earn you're way to Heaven? So, you think you're a ghost, and you were close to making it to Heaven. I'm not sure about that second part =] |
