On one of his DVD's I can't remember which one, possibly 'Back in the U.S.' Paul was saying that when he wrote this song there was the trouble in the U.S. regarding civil rights. He said that sometimes women were referred to as 'birds', so basically he was saying blackbird = black woman. |

That tapping is Pauly tapping his feet. His tapping one then the other which is why they sound slightly different. |

I think that he is actually saying 'keep your love locked down' as opposed to 'love lock down'. It makes a bit more sense that way. When you say 'locked down' it naturally sounds like you're saying lockdown, but when you write it you would write it locked down.
If you were to write it 'keep your love lock down' it's like you're talking about keeping down something called a 'love lock'. However if you write it 'keep your love locked down' the meaning changes and tends to relate the feeling that you would want to guard your love, keeping it locked down. Does that make sense? Just a thought. |

Nice song. I love the double time feel from the drums over the slow minor harmonies. As to what the song might be about I'm just not sure. Perhaps he found out that some girl he likes has got a boyfriend? That was my initial thought. |

"Animals and children tell the truth they never lie, which one is more human there's a thought now you decide"? That has got to be the single stupidest lyric I've ever heard. First of all a child without question is more human, because a child IS a human. Secondly, children don't tell the truth any more than adults do, they both lie constantly. |
