It's from the new (m)orning EP. It's 8 and a half minutes long, and is very good. The rhythm is constantly changing, so even though the song goes on forever it doesn't feel that long. I think this song is about being kind to everyone, including people who aren't kind to you. I'm not sure though, the lyrics kind of confuse me. It's a different style for Mae. |

| I see this song as Bryce finding God. What I love about it the most, though, is that Bryce totally stomps all over the rather depressing-sounding title and makes this song incredibly upbeat and energizing. It really personifies how much better his life is now. | |

Actually, I think this song is more about celebrities than "scene" kids (who sings about a stereotype? I mean really, who cares?). "You got everybody talking You got everybody going You got everybody acting crazy I'm not gonna say you don't You got everybody listening You got everybody putting on a show You got everybody acting crazy I'm not gonna say you don't" Pop culture is all over the media- TV, magazines, newspapers, it makes the 6 o'clock news for crying out loud. Scene kids really don't attract that much attention. None whatsoever, really. When he says "You're so scene" I think he means the literal meaning, like they're acting that way just to get noticed. Not scene as in your average highschool bum. |

| To me, this song is about standing up for what you believe in and not backing down when other people try to tell you that your stance is "stupid" or wrong or whatever. Just like he says, "the mean thoughts and cheap shots they will not weaken me". He isn't going to change his standards because other people are pressuring him to be like them. I love this song, it's so catchy, and it has a very upbeat, inspiring message. | |

funny story: I'm using this song in a picture slideshow for my dad for fathers day, and while I was working my brother came up and said I spelled salesman wrong. I asked what he meant, and he said it was spelled SAILSman. I said "No, that's not a word. Its SALES as in a person who sells things, not SAILS as in boats." He responded "But I thought this song was about a boy whose parents left him on the beach..." (Father I will always be That same boy that stood by the sea) It was definitely the funniest thing that happened to me today. |

I'm not a fan of Mat Kearney at all, I just don't like his music's genre. But I LOVE this song! (Its my ringtone!) The lyrics are really loose, so really you can interpret this song almost any way you want. The first time I heard it, I thought it seemed like Kearney was singing to a girl he liked whose boyfriend just broke up with her. He's comforting her to tell her that he cares about her-- "If everyone goes away, I will stay" He's also saying that he knows she can get through this and that she'll be OK-- "Everybody bleeds this way, just the same" I know in the music video its about him dying, but like I said, the lyrics are open to interpretation. |
