As has been said already, this song is very self-explanitory
I was actually thinking the "you wanna see what's in my head?" part was about x-rays too

This is by far my favorite song on Viva La Vida (although i love all of them). How it starts off being just this simple piano ballad and switches into this epic musical masterpiece with guitar work that i would never expect from Coldplay. There is just something amazing about this song that i can't stop listening to it. There is also something amazing about the lines "No I don't wanna battle from beginning to end/ I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge/ I don't wanna follow Death and all his friends" |

I just had a crazy thought. about the harmonica at the end. I read somewhere that when Pete broke into Carl's flat he stole a harmonica. maybe just a coincidence or maybe not. also it kind of sounds broken up, maybe symbloizing their kind of broken up friendship or their kind of broken up band. anyway, just a thought, i could be wrong.
P.S. this song is one of the greatest songs i have ever heard. The Libs need to get back together and make more amazing music cuz neither Babyshambles or Dirty Pretty Things come anywhere close to the Libertines |

I thought this song was about how he was talking to someone (or a band) and saying they were too mainstream and they should try to be different and only were doing it to impress "our bovine public" ("you'd never exist without being generic") |
