i think he knows he did stuff wrong, but she keeps pointing it out to him and he tried apologizing but that wasn't enough... so he says "Take anything that's better for me Take anything that's better for you Take anything that's better for me Take it now" kind of like he just wants the fighting to be over with and to have that they'd have to break up. i think he's saying "all of the wars we won" they had lots of fights and got through them but finally, enough was enough he was tired of apologizing |

| to me this song means to not be a copy... when you scream in a cave or even in a bathroom or something, you hear an echo which is pretty much a copy of your original scream. i'm thinking the song means to not be the echo, even though we all feel like it sometimes, because the scream before us seemed so much better we'd rather try to be a copy of it then create our own scream. don't be a copy/echo. be original | |

| this song was featured in one tree hill (if you've ever seen the show you'll get this) and he plays the character chris keller, who has a rep for being a player/jerk... but he loves the girl haley, and he wants her to see him for who he is hence, "i am what you see, i am not what they say. but if i turned out to be, could you love me anyways?" i think tyler wrote this almost a bit self conscious of himself even, just saying that he'd made a rep for himself and just wanted to be seen as him... not viewed as a player, or a jerk, or anything other than tyler. | |
