Chris Smither – Slow Surprise Lyrics 17 years ago
I love this one:

"I used to be half the whole of you and me,
Now I'm the limit of half a man"

So many great one-liners within one tune...Beautiful, timeless piece.

Soulajar – Drive Lyrics 17 years ago
Celebrating life...No cares in the world, other than you and those around you...The little moments that we step out of reality to get perspective on the good we share in life before we step back in and continue along. This could be taken literally as a drive down Highway 1 w/ your lover, or it could be seen as a sort of daydream during a mundane workday. Great uplifting tune!

Soulajar – Trouble Is Lyrics 17 years ago
This reminds me of the times when you meet a girl that's outside of your typical social circle...different set of friends, leisure activities, even interests...but there's something about the girl that intrigues you so much that you give it a go. You even alter your typical schedule (naps at noon, to be ready for a full night) so that you can take advantage of every moment with that person. Problem, or 'trouble', is that it's more of a honeymooning vacation period since you've altered your normal existence so much just to get your kicks...You come to this realization, as the lyric says 'But we've gone much further than we should'. No regrets, other than knowing that it has to end.

Soulajar – Wake Up Love In Time Lyrics 17 years ago
This, to me, is one of those quintessential 'morning after' songs...Waking up after a great night together, sun shining through the blinds...Knowing that responsibility of daily life lies ahead, but wanting to postpone its necessities just to have one more moment with the partner. It's a bit of a 'dream-state' song in the sense that it winds in and out of consciousness. For the bridge part of 'overlay of thought...', it seems like the couple has 'one more go' so to speak, before enduring the mundane day ahead. Great tune!
