Ok, this is how I interpreted this song: The "This is a good Idea/He wouldn't do it if it wasn't one" Is about a man hooking up with a woman..they think they won't feel bad about having sex with...Until they wake up the next morning and feel slightly phased by the fact that they both had sex with someone they weren't in love with, so either he left or she left in the morning so that they don't have to deal with awkward conversation or perhaps possibly not wanting to get emotionally attached. |

I think this song is about the singer being a father personally.If you listen to the lyrics it seems so much than a simple boy girl love song however, I can see why it would be interpreted that way... What makes me think are the lines "I can't believe you picked me" and "I will be calling you to see ,if you're sleepin are you dreamin' ,if you're dreamin are you dreamin of me". It's sounds like something a parent would say to their children. |

| Seems to me to be about his gorlfriend of wife having problems with..or disliking his career as a musician. He is telling her that she doesn't need to worry, he only love her, and everything he is doing is for her and possibly a child that they have on the way. To me this about a short lived relationship in which the girl ended up falling in love but the guy didn't. No! this song isn't specifically about love and sex. It's actually about being a giving person. I read that this song started out with them all just free styling on their instruments and Anthony came up with the "Give it away" part from when the singer of Nena (she sang 99 red balloons) gave him something of hers and she said something like "If you have something, why not give it to someone else and make their day?" |

I know it's really late into the game to be posting what it means to me but here it is: This song is obviously about drugs and Hillel,hence the lines I heard your voice through a photograph I thought it up and brought up the past Once you’ve gone you can never go back I’ve got to take it on the otherside so he might've found a picture of Hillel and then he remembered everything he went through like the coke,the heroin..so on.. and to me the chorus is like what he was saying at the time that he couldn't quit,like "how long will it be before i can finally just get clean." but to him it was like once you're using again you just repeat the whole spinning out of control cycle. i'm not sure about these lines: Pour my life into a paper cup The ashtray’s full and I’m spillin’ my guts She wants to know am I still a slut I’ve got to take it on the other side but maybe it's about the alcohol too and maybe he ran into someone he use to know or was involved with and she wanted to know if he was still the same Anthony that was using drugs and still sleeping around.
