I love this song. The use of the holocost shows how strong a bond these people have- even if it is just sexual. The Holocaust was a horrible event that tore apart families friends and lovers, but this song shows that even if people are apart the bond still exisits. |

It took me a while to think of a possible meaning to this song, but I think I came up with a good one. I don't have an explaintion for the first verse at this moment. I'll start with the "a kid broke neck on white picket fence". Since white picket fences are generally associated with "good" pleasentville type neighborhoods, I believe that this i supposed to mean that not everything is a clean and perfect as it seems to be. The "I had no reply no sting no cry" part could being saying that the world can be apathic and people can ignore imperfections or look past them. The 2nd and last parts talk about his escape from a world like this. "Watch me hide" supports this" He tries running from it. The Wizrd of Oz eferances could be a way to show the similarity between his and Dorothy's situations. Both want to escape from a place they don't like. Even if this is jus a rant that makes no sense, I love this song! |
